Class 5 Gas-Powered Isuzu Trucks for Sale

Isuzu NPR with Knapheide Service Body

James Wood Isuzu Trucks will offer Isuzu’s newest Class 5 Gas-Powered NQR and NRR Models.

The 17,950-pound GVWR NQR and the 19,500-pound GVWR NRR will be powered by a 6.0L gas-powered V-8 engine, and the NRR will be the first 19,500-pound-GVWR low cab forward truck in the industry to offer a gasoline engine option. The engine is mated to a six-speed Allison 1000 RDS transmission with power takeoff. This marks the first time Isuzu has offered PTO in a gas-powered truck, which will be especially useful for vocations that require that kind of capability.

The Class 5 NQR and NRR trucks join the complete line of Isuzu medium-duty low cab forward (LCF) trucks at James Wood Isuzu Trucks, which also includes diesel-powered N-Series models with GVWRs from 14,500 to 19,500 lbs.; Class 3 and 4 NPR and NPR-HD gas models powered by a 6.6-liter V8 engine; and the mighty diesel Class 6 FTR with wheelbases from 152 to 248 inches and a GVWR of 25,950 lbs. Isuzu also is releasing a new F-series truck, the Class 7 FVR with a 33,000 lb. GVWR and a de-rated Class 6 FVR.

Class 5 NQR and NRR Chassis Features

Isuzu NQR Chassis

Both the NQR and NRR allow customers to choose between a Standard Cab with seating for three, or the Crew Cab with seating for up to seven, and wheelbases ranging from 132.5 to 176 inches. And, like Isuzu’s Class 3 and Class 4 gas trucks, both the NQR and NRR will offer a 38.6-gallon stainless-steel fuel tank. Other key features include:

Easy Ingress and Egress: With a vertical pull-activated door handle, 90-degree door opening and conveniently placed grab handles, entering and exiting the cab is safe and easy. The self-cleaning first step allows debris to fall through to the ground below and when the door is closed, it is safely concealed.

Flat and Convex Side Mirrors: To increase rearward visibility, every Isuzu truck is equipped with a manually adjustable flat and convex side mirror.

Lighting: Isuzu trucks are equipped with halogen headlights with high/low beams and daytime running lights.

Water Channels: Isuzu truck roofs are specially designed to direct water away from the windshield for better visibility. The channels also help minimize pooled water spilling over the door when you exit the cab.

Clean Frame Rails: Isuzu truck roofs are specially designed to direct water away from the windshield for better visibility. The channels also help minimize pooled water spilling over the door when you exit the cab.

Dual Rear-Wheel Chassis: The dual rear-wheel chassis provides a robust and sturdy platform that can manage heavier payloads. The design also provides enhanced traction at the rear wheels for better acceleration while providing responsive steering control from the front wheels. Equipped with 225/70 R19.5” tires, the wheels and tires have an “inner-outer” rotation that is designed to extend the life of your tires and save you money.

In-Frame Fuel Tank: The 38.6-gallon in-frame fuel tank is conveniently placed between the rear frame rails. This rearward position keeps the tank free from interfering with body mounts and doesn’t clutter the frame rails. The larger tank also helps provide increased range to keep refueling time to a minimum.
